Mosaic calculator

Calculating the m² of your pool and the amount of tiles needed for your project

Knowing the m² of a pool is key to calculating how many tiles you need. Use the formula to estimate the total, considering that pools often have corners or steps, which makes the calculation approximate. We recommend rounding the measurements and adding 5-10% more tiles to cover unforeseen events or errors, thus ensuring that the project is completed without setbacks and saving costs.

  • Length x Width: Bottom area.
  • Length x Average Depth x 2: Area of the two long sides.
  • Width x Shallow Depth: Shallow side area.
  • Width x Deepest Depth: Deepest side area.

Add it all up and you will have the total square meters of the pool. Simple!

Example: Pool of 5m x 10m with a depth of 1m in the shallowest area, and 2m in the deepest part (which means an average depth of 1.5m)

  • Length x Width = 10 x 5 = 50 m² of pool bottom
  • Length x Average Depth x 2 = 10 x 1.5 x 2 = 30 m² of long walls
  • Width x Shallow Depth = 5 x 1 = 5 m² of shallow wall
  • Width x Deepest Depth = 5 x 2 = 10 m² of deepest wall
  • Adding it all up: 95 m² of total surface area
  • Adding a 10% safety margin and adjusting to full boxes of 25mm mosaic (they are 2 m²) = 106 m²
